Damauli, the put-in point for rafting on Seti River is 5 hours from Kathmandu by tourist bus. We will arrange transportation for you. The 35 km of river action take 2 days. The take-out point of Seti river trip is at Gaighat and it is approximately 4 – 5 hours drive from both Kathmandu and Pokhara. Seti River rafting originates in the southeast slopes of the Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) mountain. It moves to south jumping and rushing forward on the mountainous slopes. Rafting in Seti River is a refreshing experience as it runs between two beautiful regions of Annapurna and Manslu. The rafting normally takes two days and is suitable for medium-level rafters. Views of forest near the riverbank to Gaighat are very impressive.
The two day Seti rafting expedition is best suited for intermediate kayakers. The luxuriant vegetation visible along the river is a remnant of the vast forested area, which once covered the middle hills of Nepal. This area is inhabited by Magar who are renowned for generations of service with the Gurkha forces. Saranghat is a colorful middle hill village where you will have first night’s camp on a spacious beach below the village.
