Pisang Peak is the most popular Peak among the trekking peaks in Annapurna region of Nepal. It is on the way to the highest pass of the world and offers good scope for exploration. Pisang peak is one of the non-expedition peaks in Nepal and rises opposite of Annapurna II (7937). Pisang Peak lies roughly in between the giants’ Annapurna I and Manaslu both eight thousand’s. Pisang Peak rises above from Pisang village and yak pastures in a uniform slope of ice and snow to the final summit pyramid. This peak is considered as the easy climbing peak in Nepal. To reach the base camp from Pisang village, the path ascends through sparse wood and pasture to a Kharka at (4,380m) which is considered the best place for setting up the base camp. High camp is set up at 5,400m climbing to a shoulder on the South-West Ridge. There will be snow at the high camp from the end of November to the end of March. A German Expedition made the first ascent of Pisang Peak in 1955 and since then it has been something of considerable remark. Trekkers with little experience in climbing can combine the popular classic Annapurna circuit trek with Pisang Peak climbing to have the taste of climbing in Himalayas.
We follow the Annapurna Trail till pisang village then The trek to Pisang peak begins from Pisang village and we ascend up through the pastures to a Kharka, it is considered to be the best place for setting up the base camp, then, we climb up on the south-west ridge and head on to the final snow slope, the final destination. Pisang peak lies in the Annapurna region near the beautiful Buddhist village of Manang. Pisang peak climbing can be well combined with the popular Annapurna circuit trek to make a very satisfying Himalayan trek and climbing adventure in a single trip. Climbing Pisang peak is not considered a difficult climb; however it is a high peak with considerable slope, so not to be over simplified. Firstly, we departure to Besisahar from Katmandu and start trek en route common Annapurna Circuit trails and reach Pisang in a 5 days. The climbing group will be accompanied by a climbing guide, base camp support guide, camp cook, and necessary number of porters. You just carry your day pack, rest is carried by our porters and the usual walking hour is 6 hours.
